The Panama Report
The Report about Living, Working & Investing in Panama
There are probably a handful of places in the Caribbean and Latin America that are now being called "the best kept secret," but only one of them is also being called the next Hong Kong and that's the country of Panama. The excitement over Panama derives from many causes.  It's an ecological paradise, one of the world's largest banking centers, it has the second largest free trade zone in the world and it's a transit point for shipping. But more than that, it's an excellent place to live, with fine highways, a pleasant populace, good schools, great infrastructure, good telecommunications and plenty of bargain real estate.
Panama - The Virtual Nation
The new Panama -  It's a big surprise to every new visitor.  Panama City is the fastest growing city in Latin America. Panama is called the virtual nation, it is also a perfect combination of business and tax haven. Panama is on it's way to being the next Hong Kong. It has it all: over 130 first rate international banks, a tax-free Free Trade manufacturing zone, the capacity to do business at an international level from the center of the world. The Fortune 500 companies have their corporate offices in Panama - as do the oil companies, along with all the richest international companies from Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Panama City - The banking center
American built houses are being sold in the Canal Zone at rock bottom prices - I've looked at these houses and they are magnificent! The neighborhoods have tree-lined streets reminiscent of middle America.  There are playgrounds, parks, swimming facilities, baseball diamonds, gyms, and all manner of sports facilities.  The housing is within direct proximity to excellent fishing, golf, restaurants, and entertainment.  There is a new airport nearby from which you quickly travel to San Jose, Costa Rica and other nearby locations. A new movie complex attached to an entertainment & convention center is under construction, the largest such facility in Latin America.

Roads and infrastructure are modern and well maintained.  This not the third world. Panama is a first class nation with first class infrastructure.

Why are Americans moving to Panama? Because it's a first class nation, low on crime, with a low population density that is also the most wealthy nation in Central America.  It is a peaceful place with little or no street crime.  Real estate is at rock bottom prices. The business arena is one of the most modern in the world. It has a bountiful supply of water, the air is pure and because it is an isthmus there is always a gentle breeze and it never swelters.

If you want to live in a perfect place where you can eat breakfast in the Caribbean and have a second cup of coffee one hour later on the Pacific coast there is only one place to do so. There are Caribbean towns where you can buy beach front land and there are mountain towns where you can buy ranches and grow coffee.  Panama has it all. Great surfing, great beaches, great banking, good real estate prices and a low population density. There is only one Panama and it's the best spot I know of for anyone seeking a peaceful refuge.

You can order The Panama Report by John Schroder for $50 plus $3 shipping and handling 24 hours a day seven days a week.  Order by telephone, or order online. This report will save you thousands of dollars and prevent months of wasted time and frustration. It's got the tips and information that derive from experience. If you don't know the east side of town from the zona, Bocas del Toro from Boca Chica, or where to buy bargain basement land then you need a guide book written especially to inform you.  This is that guide book. It's written by someone who has gone through the process of moving to Panama and who is also an astute investor. John Schroder keeps offices in Panama City and in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. He is a former Wall Street Investment Banker who escaped to the good life.
